Information we receive
When you email, call or contact us through WhatsApp, we may receive your name, company, email address, telephone number and the information you provide about a machine, purchase, sale or valuation. The enquiry builder on this website does not transmit or store what you type; it opens your own email application. Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser, device, pages requested and security logs.
Purposes and lawful bases
We use enquiry information to respond, prepare quotations or valuations, arrange inspections and take steps requested before a contract. We process transaction and accounting records to perform contracts and meet legal obligations. We use proportionate technical logs and business correspondence for our legitimate interests in securing the website, preventing misuse, operating the business and maintaining records. Where consent is required, including for an optional marketing list, we ask separately and you may withdraw it at any time.
Marketing
An enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to marketing. We only send electronic marketing where UK law permits it. Every marketing message will provide a way to opt out, and you may object at any time by emailing us.
Recipients and international transfers
Information may be handled by suppliers needed to operate our hosting, email, IT, accounting, professional advice, transport or transaction services. WhatsApp is provided by Meta when you choose to use it. Some providers may process information outside the UK; where required, we use appropriate contractual or other legal safeguards.
Retention
General enquiries that do not lead to a transaction are normally reviewed and deleted after 24 months. Contract, invoice and accounting records are normally retained for six years after the relevant financial year or longer where law or a dispute requires it. Marketing preferences are retained until you opt out; we may keep the minimum information needed to respect an opt-out. Security-log retention is limited by the relevant hosting provider's operational policy.
Your rights and complaints
Subject to UK data-protection law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing and withdraw consent. Contact us first so we can help. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
